Product Description
What is Tydol 100mg?
Tydol 100 mg contains Tapentadol, a centrally acting opioid analgesic of the benzenoid class, which has a dual action as an agonist of the μ-opioid receptor and as a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (NRI). Analgesia occurs within 32 minutes of orally administering Tydol 100mg Tablet and the effect lasts for 4-6 hours.
Tapentadol is not a pro-drug and therefore does not depend on metabolism to produce its therapeutic effects. This makes it a useful medium-strength analgesic alternative for patients who do not respond adequately to more commonly used opioids due to genetic predisposition (poor metabolizers of CYP3A4 and CYP2D6), as well as patients with provide a more consistent dose-response range between.
Tapentadol Tydol 100 mg was approved by the US FDA in November 2008, by Australia’s TGA in December 2010, and by the UK’s MHRA in February 2011.
In India, the Central Drug Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) approved Tapentadol immediate-release (IR) preparations. (50 mg, 75 mg, and 100 mg) for the treatment of moderate to severe acute pain.
What is the use of Tydol 100 mg tablet?
Tydol 100 mg is used to treat moderate to severe pain for both acute (injury, surgery, etc.) and chronic musculoskeletal pain. It is also specifically prescribed to control the pain of diabetic neuropathy when opioid medication is needed round-the-clock.
Acute Pain
Acute pain is a type of short-term pain that occurs suddenly as a result of an injury or surgery.
- Injury Pain:
Injury pain can be caused by mechanical trauma, extreme heat or cold, bone fracture, burn, pull muscle, or joint discomfort.
- Surgery Pain:
Surgery pain, also known as postoperative pain, is the discomfort and pain that a patient experiences after undergoing a surgical procedure. This pain results from tissue injury, inflammation, and the body’s natural healing processes following surgery. Effective management of postoperative pain is crucial for patient recovery, comfort, and overall well-being.
Chronic Pain
Chronic pain occurs for longer than 12 weeks, regardless of medication or treatment. After an injury or surgery, most people recover from their discomfort. However, the discomfort might linger for a long time or occur without a history of injury or surgery. Chronic Pain includes musculoskeletal pain.
- Musculoskeletal pain:
The bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles are all affected by Musculoskeletal Pain. A fracture, for example, might cause severe pain. A chronic condition, such as arthritis, can also produce pain. If musculoskeletal pain is interfering with your daily activities, consult a doctor.
- Diabetic neuropathy:
Diabetes causes nerve damage, which is referred to as diabetic neuropathy. Diabetes-related high blood glucose levels, often known as blood sugar, and high levels of fats in the blood, such as triglycerides, can harm your nerves over time.
Contraindications
Tydol 100 mg is not recommended for those who have epilepsy or are prone to seizures.
It raises intracranial pressure and should not be taken in people who have suffered a head injury, have brain tumors, or have other diseases that raise intracranial pressure.
Because it raises the risk of respiratory depression, it should not be used by those who have asthma.
Tydol tablet, like other opioid agonists, can produce sphincter of Oddi spasms and is therefore not recommended for usage by people with biliary system illnesses such as acute and chronic pancreatitis.
Individuals with quick or ultra-rapid CYP2C9, CYP2C19, and CYP2D6 enzyme metabolizers may not respond effectively to tapentadol medication.
Tydol 100 mg tablet should be used with caution in people with moderate liver disease and not at all in people with severe liver disease due to restricted clearance.
